The Innovation Network for Biomass will from  2010 to 2013, with support from the Danish Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation, develop a number of projects organized along six themes. Across the themes we will work with internationalization and business development.

 

The six themes are:

 

  1. Biomass: Cultivation/growth strategies, collection/harvest, planning/database of biomasses for energy purposes
  2. Technology: Separation/pretreatment of biomass, conversions, biorefineries, and air quality/emissions
  3. Energy: Pyrolyses, combustion, gasification, biogas, bioliquid, energy balances, etc.
  4. Environment: Nutrients, recycling of phosporus, fertilizer production, euthrophication, xenobiotic substances, etc.
  5. Framework conditions: Legislation, certification, tests, and economy
  6. Across: Market and business development, internationalization, and entrepreneurship

 

As the projects take form they will be published on this website under Current Projects.

 

Parallel to this Agro Business Park has been given the resposibility for developing 3-7 demonstration and market development projects in cooperation with the Central Region of Jutland (Region Midtjylland). The relevant themes here are described as follows:

  1. Biorefineries: Ensuring that companies in the region have access to test facilities (Greeb Labs) under construction and/or as subcontractors to biorefineries
  2. Green Growth Business Development: Could be projects about biogas and other green gasses, upgrading and demonstration or new ways of utilizing biogas
  3. Technologies for utilization of biomass by-products: For instance recirculation of nutrients from biomass to agriculture, e.g. phosphorus from garbage or sludge combustion or active coal from pyrolysis

There is a certain degree of overlap between the two themes which can be combined in projects. Further finansing must come from other sources. Business development, market maturation, and demonstration are common key terms.
